Windows 7 OneNote Sharepoint
I am using OneNote 2007, Windows 2007 and Sharepoint Server 2007 I am trying to create a shared onenote notebook on our sharepoint server. When I do this with an XP machine on the same network, not a problem. When I follow the steps of creating a shared notebook using Windows 7, it won't do it. When I creat the shared notebook, and it asks me to enter the path...It then gives me an error saying: -Location is not available;-You do not have permissions;-The path or notebook name contains invalid characters;-The combined path and notebook name exceeds the maximum path length.I have done the exact same creation using both a desktop and laptop running XP, no problems.I also tried this:I go to Sharepoint, and upload a onenote notebook from the laptop to a shared document space. No problem. Then, using the laptop, I go to open this notebook, I get the message:- Your request cannot be completed because the service cannot be found or did not respond. The service might be experiencing techical difficulties or you may need to adjust your network settings.I've been on the phone with Microsoft for over 2 hours to this point with no resolution. Any help would be fantastic.

Hi, Thank you for posting here. Based on my research, I would like to suggest you check the following: 1. Check if the issue also occurs on other Windows 7 computers on your network. 2. Please check if the error persists when you share the note book to a share folder. Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT

Hi, And the answer is? I have this problem with all Win 7 workstations, 64 or 32 bit. I love using OneNote with SharePoint but this is not stimulating the use. A solution from MS would be nice. Thanks

I have the exact same problem. There has to be something in Windows 7. I can share both 2010 and 2007 OneNotes to Sharepoint 2007 from XP all day long. I cannot share them to a server data share or Sharepoint on a Windows 7 system. I have full admin rights on the systems, data shares, and the Sharepoint. I have mutiple groups who depend on this OneNote. Please advise Microsoft, OneNote gurus, or MVP's.
