Windows 7 Offline Files intermittent failures
Client = Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Server = SBS2003
Working on the client, I see the share \\Server\Company\Staff\John contains 18 GB. I mark it with "Make files available offline".
Sync process runs for about 5 minutes then fails with several errors, of the form:
..\Filename1 "network name not available"
..\Filename2 "unexpected network error"
In all other respects the network is 100% reliable, and all the files shown in the error report are visible. Repeated efforts to synchronize the folder result in similar errors.
I tried copying the share to a scratch folder on the client - the copy worked without reporting any errors and took about 45 minutes.
Offline files using a Windows XP Pro client and the same server works correctly.

I'm guessing this is a SMB problem, since Windows 7 uses SMB2.1 while your SBS2003 server uses SMB1.
Try and disable SMB2 on your Windows 7 client, and see if that fixes the problem for you.
I'm just gonna copy and paste from another forumpost where Arthur Xie posted the solution:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itpronetworking/thread/15b80cb7-3773-4b3e-9c84-210a7ac13857
To disable SMB2, please use the following commands.
sc config lanmanworkstation depend= bowser/mrxsmb10/nsi
sc config mrxsmb20 start= disabled
Please note: there's an extra " " (space) after the "=" sign.
