Windows 7 Offline Cache Corrupt
Hello, I have used folder redirection to redirect our internet explorer favorities, but for some reason a few of the favorites are corrupt, so they don't work, can't be renamed or deleted. I have deleted the server copies without issues, but they are still there so I'm suspecting it is a Offline cache problem. If I disable offline caching then there are no longer any issues with the favorites because it is using the server copy. I tried this registry command to reset it, but it didn't work. REG ADD "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CSC\Parameters" /v FormatDatabase /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f I used to be able to hold contrl+shift and press delete, but that doesn't seem to work. Error message when deleting: Error 0x800710FE: This file is currently not available for use on this computer. Thank you, Walter BeachWalter

Please open Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Sync Center. Click “Manage Offline Files”. Select the “Disk Usage” tab and then click the button Delete temporary files. If the issue persists, restart and log in Safe Mode. Then, open “regedit”, manually locate to: HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CSC\Parameters Then, add a REG_DWORD key, name FormatDatabase and change its value to 1. Then reboot.Arthur Xie - MSFT

I have just deleted my CSC files using the Reg_DWORD that you mention but now when I go to the sync center it says that it has completed successfully in less than a second, no sign of errors or conflicts, but in reality nothing has been synched. When I take my laptop off net all of the offline folders have grey x through them and files are not accessible. Offline File Cache is successfully deleted, but I can't get it to create a new offline cache. Any thoughts? I appreciate your help. Regards, Aaron
