Windows 7 OEMs and Hardware Upgrades
I have a 2 year old desktop PC which I built myself. I intend on purchasing OEM versions of Windows 7 for it, however,I'm planning on upgrading with a new motherboard, CPU, Video card, and RAM. How exactly will these upgrades affect my OEM Windows 7 activation? What would I need to do to ensure that it will still work properly?

'scaddude',Pretty simple really... make your hardware changes. Do a "Custom Install" of 7 & activate & Bob's your uncle. What you refer would only be an issue if you were reloading an existing OS after major hardware changes. Thanks Drew - MS Partner / MS Beta Tester / Pres. Computer Issues

Whenever I make significant changes like this, I usually reformat my hard drive as well. Will this cause an issue?

No.Need to format as part of & prior to the (clean) install, anyway.Drew - MS Partner / MS Beta Tester / Pres. Computer Issues
