Windows 7 Not connecting to existing wireless network
I previously set up a wireless network at the house before getting my new computer with Windows 7. I have 2 laptops that are able to connect to the wireless network. The network was set up with WPA-Personal security, which I know the password to. I do not have a wireless card in the new computer (HP desktop) so I have a Linksys USB wireless network adapter. The router is a Linksys, as well. Windows 7 is able to find my existing wireless network. When I try to connect to the existing network, multiple prompts happen. At times, I get enter the network password, which I do, but it will not accept it. Other times it asks me for a network login, which I give (assuming its my computer name and windows password) and it does not take that as well. My drivers are apparently up to date. I am unable to log into my existing network, and would appreciate any help.

You need to ensure that the ssid and passphrase is the same for the router config page as well as for your comp under wireless setting. I suggest you to disable the wpa security for the time being and use a ethernet cable to connect from the comp to the router and once the above ssid and passphrase is input correctly for the comp wireless setting as well as the router config, save and exit the router config page and try detecting again

Please perform Daniel's suggestions. Meanwhile, please assure that the MAC address of the USB Wireless network adapter is permitted in the Wireless AP.Thanks,Novak
