Windows 7 Networking
I recently added a new computer with Windows 7 Professional to my office domain. The new machine can't see any of the others under Network, but I can find them with a Active Directory Search. I have mapped a network drive to the server( Don't ask me how), and some of the network printers show when adding network printers, but not all. How do I find the other computers? My server(Windows Server 2003) sees all the computers under My Network Places, but the workstations(Windows XP Pro) have the same blank screen under the domain as the new one. Any help?

Hi, Here are some suggestions you can try: 1. Write down the IP address for Windows XP and run a Ping test from Windows 7 machine to Windows XP to check whether it can be accessed. If not, please temporarily turn off firewall on each machine. Otherwise, please assure the following services are started: Computer Browser, Server and Workstation. 2. Please install the latest update for Windows XP and assure Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) Responder package is installed. 3. Write down the computer name for Windows XP. Click Start button in Windows 7 and type \\XP computer name, and then press enter. Can you access the Windows XP computer now? Thanks, Novak
