Windows 7 Network stopped working
Have been usingWindows 7 release candidate for a couple of weeks and evrything have been working fine... Until YesterdayWhen the computer started yesterday the little network icon in the bottom right corner had the small blue ring in it looked like it was trying to get an IP, but nothing happened.I tried to open Network and sharing preferenses, but it didn't open.I restarted, still same thingShutdown the computer, cycled power on my DSL modem and Router Started the computer, still the same thing (Even tried the connecting with wired connection directly to the Router)Disabled all network devices and restarted the computer, once the computer started I could enable the network and it worked as it shouldRestarted the computer to verify and it still worked.Today when I booted up the computer the problem was back and I had to disable network adapters reboot and enable again...And any program that wants to connect to the network at all doesn't work when this problem occurs, Antivirus (Norton Internet security 2010), Internet Explorer etc doesn't start at all.If I look in the task manager the networks say that they are connectedAny one have an Idea?/PerComputer MacBook 13Inch, 2GB ram 320GB Hd, Windows 7 32-bit

I think this may have been due to a MS update. My Windows 7 did a lot of updates and then I had the same problem. I eventually ended up doing a system restore and have not had any problems so far. Now my computer wants to download the same updates but I am not sure I am going to do it. I don't want to take the chance of messing with the network problem again.

Did you check the DHCP client service? I have a similar problem, the wifi connection is established but I don't get IP. I checked the dhcp client service and it is in automatic mode but stopped. When I press start I recieve a message (don't remember exactly) saying that a component is missing. I could't find a way to add an ip manually, cannot enter to tcpip 4 properties, or to reinstall the service... If somebody has a solution.... thanks

Problem solved. What I did? Restored the system to a point before the automatic updates for windows. The system started working normally after restart. Then I installed again all the updates but left unchecked the KB972260. The problem starts when youinstall this update(KB972260)

I've had the same problem and found the same workaround.
