Windows 7 Network Printer keeps going offline due to SNMP
Hi, This issue can be caused by the SNMP status is enabled on a Microsoft Standard TCP/IP port and the physical print device sends a malformed response or fails to respond. You may refer to the explanation in the following article: How to: Fix a network printer suddenly showing as offline in Windows Vista Please Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. We are experiencing an unusual problem all of a sudden printing to networked printers from Windows 7 clients. Windows 7 clients say the printers are offline. Other users are able to print to the same printer, while their queue are showing up as being offline. We have figured out a workaround or a solution, which is to disable SNMP on the printer port. However, we need to find out what is causing it this and to stop from happening at the onset.

This does not work for me in Windows 7. Will not allow me to configure the port.

You have to do from an administrator context

I have the same problem. My network printer worked fine up until about a month ago, then it suddenly started showing up as "Offline." I have not found any information anywhere to help with this problem. My operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium. My printer is an HP Photosmart C6100 series. The SNMP solution mentioned above does not work on my Windows 7. In fact, a search on "SNMP" shows no results. Neither does a search on "offline." What could have changed? Why is this printer always offline now?
