Windows 7 Network Print Server Problem - netgear PS121v2
Greetings:This is a global problem and I understand that i not the only one. I had read basically most of the information provide in here about this problem. My print server works fine on XP Home (32 bit), Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit), but not on Windows 7 (64 bit).My home network is veru simple. First my router is Netgear WGT624, that works fine with my cable connection.I downloaded the lates PS121v2 driver inatllation, but at the begining makes a noise like and error but continue running and finish well. During the setup it reconized the print server and could do the print test. But after that, does not appear in the program files, or in the devices.Do you know any wireless printer or wireless print server that really works with Windows 7 64 bit. Thanks

Hi, I could not find the Windows 7 driver for PS121v2 on NETGEAR site, and just got a driver for Windows Vista. Please just try it with compatibility mode and see how it works: PS121v2 Print Server Software version 2.0.2 Please Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information. How to run an application with Compatibility Mode: 1. Right click on the program's shortcut or executable file and select Properties. 2. Switch to the Compatibility tab. 3. Check the “Run this program in compatibility mode for” box. 4. Click on the drop down menu arrow and select which version of Windows the program was made for and click OK. In addition, you can also run this program by right-clicking on it and selecting “Run as Administrator” to see how it works. Considering this issue is related to a specific device and we have limited resources about it, if the issue persists, it is recommended that you contact on NETGEAR for help. I do not think you really to install the util, you should be able to just access the print server via is GUIhookup a printer and press the diag button on back util the light comes on, it should spit out a config page with the IP of the device. Now just setup as you would any other IP printer.

In addition, please also ensure the printer is compatible with Windows 7 and you have a proper driver. To check the compatibility of the printer, please go to Windows 7 Compatibility Center website.Nicholas Li - MSFT

Hi, I am glad to know it works after installing the driver before PS121v1. Your efforts are highly appreciated. If the issue persists or you need more information or support, it is still recommended that you contact NETGEAR. Thanks again. Have a nice day!Nicholas Li - MSFT

The Install Fails to create the directory. Manually create the Directory c:\Program Files\NETGEAR\PS121v2 before you run the install and everything installs fine. I am able to print and scan with a Dell AIO 962 hooked up to it.
