Windows 7 Network Backup Issue
I've just tried to set up a backup to my NAS and whenever I put in the network location I cannot continue without a username and password to use. The NAS is set up so that no passwords are required. Why am I forced to put one one in?Steve

Hi Steve, Have you tried setting up a NAS folder that requires username and password to check if the backup can be performed successfully? If not, please do so and check the issue. After that, if the issue persist, I wonder if you are trying to backup your files to the Public Shared folder on NAS. Please note: You may be not have permission to backup filesto the NAS folder which is not shared as public. If the folder is Public shared one, please take the following two methods to resolve the issue. Method 1: Temporarily disable all the firewalls and anti-virus applications, and then to exclude the factors from other services and applications, do a clean boot to check the issue. Method 2: Do a system backup on a local hard drive, and then copy the backup files to the NAS folder. You can refer to the following website for more information.
