Windows 7 Network Application's Slow Performance.
We have a foxpro application which is hosted on a file server running server 2003 and the databsae as well(database is SQl server 2005). Performance of the application is slower when access it with windows 7 (Windows 7 Professional 32 bit) machine. We also have server 2003 and windows xp users, and their performance seems to be really good. Ex : Application Loadout Time Windows XP 5 Seconds Windows 7 20 Seconds I narrowed down the issue by copying only the apllcation files to the user machine and connecting it to the network database. And it is working as expeceted (fast. same as XP). But as soon as I put those files on the network, again the prformance is slow. But running in safe mode seems to be faster, but not as faster as xp or server 2003. Any ideas. Thanks in advance. I've already tried the followings. Disabling all the services and startup option to be same as in Safe Mode. Updating all the drivers, bios, updates. (Latest service pack with all the updates.) Changed the network card. Changed the Network Switch. Disabled Antivirus\ Uninstalled Antivirus. Enabling config file to locally create temp files of foxpro app. Disabling ========================================= Flow control and checksum offloading in network properties. Cleint side caching option. Remote Differential Compression =========================================

Hi, You can disable disable checksum offloading in registry: Open the Registry and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters.Add a new DWORD value named DisableTaskOffload and set it to 1.You may need to restart the system to make these changes take effect.William Tan TechNet Community Support

Yep a few days back I found it. (Actually a senior one found it. :) ) > Turn off Gobal Auto tuning. (Use elevated command prompt) Command : netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled > Turn off interrupt moderation in advanced network configuration menu of the network adapter. Restart The Computer.
