Windows 7 Network. I cannot see or contact a Mac computer on my local network.

Thank you. I have determined that the IP4 address on my Mac is 10.0.1.4 and on muy pc is 10.0.1.2. I believe these need to be the same. If so how do I change one of them to match the other and which one is the correct one? I appreciate everyone's help. JohnnygsterJohnnygster

I don't think that is a correct. 2 machines in the network should not have the same ip address. Also to share files you don't need the machine to have the same ip address.
