Windows 7 Net use does not work
I have a domain on Win2008R2 and i have been using group policy for a batch file with some net use commands iside. All my WinXP clients is running succesfully with this setup. Now I have added some pc´s with Win7 in my AD and the net use commands does not work during the logon script. If I browse the \\domainname\netlogon and run the specified file it works, I get all the right drives that way. Itis only during logon that it don´t work. Regards Rasmus

I suspect the logon script is not privileged enough, because it is not running with elevated privileges. Have you considered how you will be integrating UAC operation into your domain? As a test, does the problem go away if you disable UAC? To do so: 1. Click Start, enter UAC into the search field, and click Change user account control settings when it comes up. 2. Pull the slider to the bottom. 3. Reboot. If UAC is a requirement in your domain environment, consider using the Task Scheduler to set up a script to run at logon. Privileged scripts can be run via Task Scheduler without a UAC prompt. -Noel

Hi, Based on my research, I would like to suggest you trying the following options: 1. Configure the following settings on Windows 7 client computers: Control Panel” -> “User Accounts” -> “User Accounts” -> “Change User Account Control Settings” -> select the option “Never Notify”. 2. Using Group Policy Preferences to Map Drives Based on Group Membership Best Regards Dale
