Windows 7 Mapped Network Drive
This problem occurs after mapping my (win7) client's network drive to (2008 server) server's shared folder. I can login to my program using the mapped network drive. However, my crystal report creates a temp file which cannot be found. However, if I open the network drive and minimize it or leave it open the crystal report can find the temp file. Does anyone know why opening the network drive works even though upon login I can use the static drive? Thanks!

Hi I have similar problem, using server 2003 and Win 7 client. For no reason, the drive is either diconnected after restart or is marked as broken.I mapped the drive using a bat script usine net use /persistent. It is weird that it usually works fine. How did you map the drive? Did you check "reconnect on logon"?What I did for the moment, I created a shortcut to that drive on desktop and double click reactivates the connection. I am not proud of this solution, however.

Hi, May I know what program you are using? If you run this program with the option “run as administrator”, will it work? Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT

We have turned off the UAC and usually do not need to "Run As Administrator". Our accounting software is Microsoft objects-based which work perfectly using Windows 2003 server and Windows XP workstations. My questions is regarding to whether there is a session setting on the Windows 2008 side or the Windows 7 side? If I leave the netwrok drive open to a main folder of our program folder then our system finds the required files. When we first log into the program at first try the system finds the file then seems like a time out has occurred.Any help will be useful. Now, on occasions we get an error code 94 with Windows 7 that deals with permissions issue. We were able to make our program work in VISTA but this Windows 7 appears to be loacking dow security in areas that is not visible to us...tsystem support specialists.Thanks.

Hi, Thank you for you update. I know this is Microsoft objects-based software. Is this specially designed for Windows 7? For this issue, I think it is better to contact the designer. Or, you can go to our MSDN forum for help: Microsoft Developer Network Forums Home Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT
