Windows 7 Manual System Restore
With Windows XP when it would not boot to Windows you could use a boot disk and then find the Restore files in System Volume Information and do a "manual" system restore by using the backup files to replace the Sam, Security, Software and System files in the Windows/System32/config folder. Since I can't even access the System Volume Information has the ability to do manual system restores been removed from Windows 7? I work at a very large corporation that uses disk encryption software so I can't use ANY of the built in Windows 7 repair tools because I can't boot to Windows and the disk encryption doesn't let Windows access the Startup repair tools. I have to do dozens of reimages that were avoided in Windows XP because of the changes. I would love to find out if anyone had figured out a resolution to this big problem.
