Windows 7 Magnifier Image Sharpness
The issue that you describe may be hardware related. LCD monitors will not provide a quality similar to a CRT when magnified. I tested on my 24" LCD with 1920 x 1200 resolution and it's not the best looking when magnified. The display adapter may also have an impact on the quality. If you have a hi-res monitor and a display adapter that is only capable of lower resolutions it will not look so good. Unfortunately, the only way to improve the magnified view is with more expensive equipment. Visit a computer store and test the magnifier on various systems to find one that you like and match that configuration of monitor and display adapter. If you have not done so already, try Start=>Control Panel=>Ease of Access and run the Windows optimizer and display optimizer to help improve what you currently are experiencing.

So I'm visually impaired and I've always used the Windows magnifier in the past to help me navigate. I recently upgraded my system to Windows 7 however and the magnifier is blurry. It's not pixelated, looks more like it's softening the edges to make it smooth. I tried the clear type function but it didn't help. The Vista and XP magnifiers had really nice, sharp images. Is there some way I can make the magnifier image sharp? Or somehow get the old magnifier instead?
