Windows 7 Logical drives
I'm upgrading my Vista Ultimate system to Win7 Ultimate. My PC has three logical drives - C, D, & E (E was the system recovery directory for WinVista Premium that shipped with the PC, I installed Ultimate). Does Win7 support merging these 3 drives into one large volume? If yes, do I have to do a clean install or can i do it after an in-place upgrade.

Hi, as long as both are 32bit or 64bit ( ie. Vista ultimate 32bit with SP2 installed to W7 ultimate 32bitupgrade or the same for 64bit. ) you should be able to in place upgrade. Back up any important data first. More info on link belowhttp://i.zdnet.com/blogs/windows_7_upgrade_chart.pngSlan go foill, Paul

We can delete drive D and E and merge them to drive C. Please understand that delete Drive D and E will clear all data on these 2 partitions and we will lose the recovery partition. We can do the merging (Extend Volume) during installing Windows 7 or after installing Windows 7.
