Windows 7 Internet will not connect at All!
I recently purchased windows 7 upgrade under the student discount. I had to burn the image to a disc in order to do a clean install. This essentially worked and I was able to access the internet. As soon as I turned off the computer the internet would not come back. Though sometimes it does come back for a brief period but very rarely and only for a few minutes or until I turn the computer off again. In these cases it only comes through when I reset my modem and router. Now everyone else in my house who has windows XP the internet will work for them. I've tried a number of different fixes and none of them have worked. These include, While running command prompt in administrator I did: Ipconfig /flushdns /release /renew netsh int ip reset pinged google and default gateway with full success ( sent=4 received=4 loss=0) I also tried connecting to google and microsoft.com through their ip address with no succes (even though the ping to these addresses worked) I turned off windows firewall and I have no antivirus installed I've reset my router and modem several times ( Though I said other computers work in the house) In the network center it says its an unidentified public network, allthough sometimes its says Home Network and it still does not work. The X is between network and internet NOT computer and network I've ran network diagnostics coming up with a router or broadband modem issue saying to restart them. Also I have had some error saying it cannot connect to the DNS server. While clicking troubleshooting and clicking internet connection it resets the network adapter but it comes back up as unidentified network or Home Network and still wont connect to the internet. If i click Network adapter under troubleshooting however I get a Router and Broadband modem error telling me to reset them ( Which I have countless times) I have tried this between two different routers: D - Link WBR-2310 (Works for all computers except for mine with windows 7) Belkin N Wireless Router V.3 (Works same as D - Link except for wireless doesn't work. Which I'm sure is a router issue and not involved in my current problem) The modem I have is supplied by Charter Communications and I've called them and they say its currently working. Does anyone have any idea? I've been surfing the internet for the past two days with countless "Fixes" That don't work. I would really appreciate it if you would be able to assist me.

This issue occurs if the network adapter driver is not compatible. I suggest that you install the driver that is designed for Windows 7. Then, re-create the wireless connection. Please do not use any third party wireless connection management programs. If the issue persists, please temporary disable or uninstall the anti-virus. You can also try to manually assign IP address and Default Gateway. If the issue still occurs, please try to upgrade firmware for both routers.
