KhalilAwwad - Before doing what I suggest below uninstall the NIC via the Device Manager (do not delete driver files).Power-cycleyour modem, Router, and Computer system; unplug all power to everything at let sit for 2~3 minutes.Begin plugging everything back in beginning with the Router (wait about 30 seconds), then the Modem (wait till it's "Online"), finally the computer.Start the computer, the NIC should be re-installed by the time you get to the Desktop. If your problems persist use the Command Prompt and type: ipconfig /release, waita few seconds then type: ipconfig /renew.Try as I suggested and let me know how it went.By the way, do you have a 3rd party Firewall installed?GA P35 DQ6 Mb, Intel Wolfdale 8600 3.33Ghz C2D CPU., 4x2Gb Mushkin DDR2 1066 PC2 8500 Ascents Memory Mods., PNY-nVidia GE Force 8800 GTS (640MB), 4-Western Digital Caviar SATA(2) HDD's (internal), 1 EIDE-USB External; Hauppauge PVR 1600 TV tuner, Dual Monitor: (1) Standard up top, (1) WideScreen below; Altec Lansing Speakers. Windows 7 RC is not to be used in a production environment. You should only do clean installs, either in a dual boot or virtual environment, or on a PC you won't have any qualms about wiping clean at any time.

hi, im also experiencing the same problem..im running on windows 7 ultimate and using broadband router for 2 pcs..this happend to me twice when im actively using my pc..the disconnection mostly happens when i left the pc for downloading..i tried the following already:- disabled standby mode- disabled monitor off- uncheck "turn off this device" for the lan hardware (the one with "allow only packet to turn on the device"..something..)\- uncheck IPv6 in the lan properties (im still not sure how to disable IPv6)- disable device, turn off modem, turn off switch- updated lan driver (i believed dated 07/xx/2009)- note: this is a clean installthe only solution i have so far is to restart the pc..i'm not encountering this error previously when im running xp.. thanks!

guys I have been having this problem too but I fixed it today. This probably only applies to those using Nvidia motherboards but they released new Windows 7 ethernet drivers today. My internet connection has not disconnected for an hour now (up from 10 minutes) and I have been downloading heavily. So check it out at nvidia.com

What is your network adapter? Try to find on the web the driver for you network adapter. Then, uninstall the driver for the network adapter. Reinstall the new driver. Please let me know if it helps.Dom

Hello, I had the same issue where my network connection was lost every few minutes. I had tried updating network drivers and may of the other suggestions. I found a posting suggesting that the chipset drivers could be the issue. After updating my chipset drivers I was back up and running (no more connection issues). My network card is bundled on the motherboard and the chipset driver covered many other devices attached on the motherboard. As a suggestion do not give up with your motherboard's Site for the drivers, especially if you have an older motherboard and they have not offered any updates in a long time. You may have to do as I did and track down the chipset provider's site and see if they have a new driver for their chipset. It paid off for me.

I appear to have fixed the same problem with my Intel WiFi link 4965AGN adapter by disabling power management in the driver menu. The problem got bad enough I had a batch file on the desktop for ip release/renew. Since the change I have not had to use it once. Control Panel > Device Manager > Network Adapters > (your adapter) > Properties > Power Management > Uncheck "allow windows to turn off this device"
