Windows 7 IME not working with Final Fantasy XI
when playing Final Fantasy XI it is impossible to type in kana (the japanese standard text that looks like the following: ) it has something to do with the inability (in windows vista and windows 7) to turn off the "Extend support of advanced text services to all programs" feature the problem is addressed by many different people of the same problem on the following official windower website, where many FFXI addons are discussed, and the page of a certain thread directly pertaining to this problem can be found at the URL > http://forums.windower.net/topic/2166-a-guide-to-the-ime/page__st__140 my ultimate question, what forum can i post this problem on/how can i submit this directly to microsoft so that they can take action in order to create the ability to turn this function off?

Hi, in Win 7, there is no check box for the item "Extend support of advanced text services to all programs" under Control Panel\Clock, Language, and Region\Regional and Language Options. However, I suggest you just install the Japanese IME in Win 7 to troubleshoot the issue. You can refer to the steps in the following link: Install Japanese IME in Vista Although the steps are for Vista, they are also fit for Win 7. I have checked the steps on my own Win 7. Besides, you can try to install the Windower 3.42.2 (RC2) BETA in Win 7. It may be helpful. If you still would like to send feedback to Microsoft, have a look at the link: The Windows Feedback Program You can send email to winpanel@microsoft.com with your concerns. Regards. Cecilia Zhou

i already have IME downloaded, and already have japanese as my language, and also already an using the windower 3.4x beta, and still i am unable to type in japanese on final fantasy XI because of the inability to turn off the "Extend support of advanced text services to all programs" feature. thank you for the link to the windows panel email, perhaps i can convince them to do a patch that will allow us to turn this feature off
