Windows 7 IE8 Recent Pages Annoyance
This has been driving me absolutely crazy for some time. I'm running Windows 7 (although I've had this issue with Vista & IE8), and what happens is randomly, the "recent pages" order gets changed, so say I start with a blank page and go to
www.google.com first, normally, if I where to go back all the way, I should end up back at
www.google.com, but what happens is it'll just change order so
www.google.com is no longer first, but instead, some other link I went to along the way, after I started at google (say
www.microsoft.com, for example), is now first, so going all the way back takes me to
www.microsoft.com instead of
www.google.com, but www.google.com is just in front of microsoft. Does anyone have any clues what's goign on? It's driving me insaine!

Hi,
I would like to suggest you perform the following troubleshooting steps:
1.
Reset Internet Explorer settings to default
2.
Launch
Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) to check the result
3.
Test the issue in
Clean Boot
4.
Create a new user to test the issue
What are the results?

I apologize for the delay; I've tried resetting IE to defaults, I run minimal addons (No toolbars, Silverligh, Flash, two Adobe addins, LogMeIn, Java and a handful of MS addins that where installed by Office), Safe mode doesn't seem to make a difference,
and I've seen the problem on several different installs. The problem is I can't duplicate it. Sometimes it'll go a week without cropping up, sometimes it'll happen several times in one day.
