Windows 7 Home and RDP
i have a windows 7 home edition laptop and want to vpn/remote desktop to our windows 2008 and windows 2003 server at the office. I tried it and was able to make the vpn connection to the servers but when I try to open an application on the server, I suddenly lose my RDP connection. The VPN is still connected, however. So, I'm thinking it's with the RDP connection.

Hi, First, I suggest to disable the Network Level Authentication for a test. If the issue still persists, you may ping the remote computer’s IP to see if the connectivity is good. If you find that losing package is very often. It indicates the connectivity is unstable to use Remote Desktop. Otherwise, I suggest to disable the firewall and anti-virus software when you perform the action. And What is the application? Did you mean that it disconnected while you were opening any other application? Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Normally, the first application used is Outlook. It is after I get out of Outlook and try any other application that it happens
