Care to share how you restore it? Is it through system restore within windows or restoring using the image partition or recovery cd? Have you try the repair option of windows?

Hi,
Microsoft now requires Windows genuine advantage validation tool to be installed and run on your computer if you want to download or install any updates from Microsoft. WGA tests the current version of Windows Operating System on your computer for legitimacy.
If your Windows 7 is licensed but is still failing the WGA test, you have to download and install a simple system registry fix that will make your
Windows 7 genuine. Hope this helps you.
