Windows 7 Home Networking Issue:
Had Win7 installed for the past ~2yrs on my main PC. Added an SSD this past week and installed Win 7 on it but have not yet activated this install (still activated on the other HDD). Things seem to work except for Networking. I can see the wife's PC (also Win7) as well as our NAS (DNS-323), but I cannot access files on either, or specifically map the NAS as a network drive. I have "joined" the Home Network via the correct password. Done this twice now after "leaving" and rejoining to see if that helped. If I re-boot into the old HDD, everthing still works fine. But once I boot into the new SSD, I have this networking issue. So I "know" the DNS-323 is active/working, as is the other PC. I can even see the DNS-323's IP address from within the SSD desktop. I can also log into the DNS-323 through IE and make changes succesfully. But danged if I can map it or access it's files. I have no other "Users/accounts" setup on either the old HDD or the SSD install. So think I should have full admin rights everytime I log into either drive's desktop. The Network is under default WORKGROUP for both PC's. Specs: Win 7 w/ SP1, EX58 UD3R, i7 940, 6GB RAM, GTX 560 Ti, 1TB Hitachi HDD, 180GB Corsair Force 3 SSD, Realteck PCI GBE network card. Edit: after reading around here, I disabled (or unchecked) IPv6...did not fix anything.

Fixed: went back into the HDD desktop (since that was "working" and studied everything. Noticed a whole lot more items installed under that NIC's Properties than I recalled in the SDD OS. Including...Cilent for MS Networks. It was a Christmas miracle. No idea why that was not installed up-front...
