Windows 7 HP new laptop wireless Router DI 624 unable to connect wirelessless?
I have gone through all the troubleshooting options on the computer and there is still a disconnect between the computer and the router. Vista and XP have connected to this router before and I have checked to see and the router is compatible with windows 7. Everythiing looks good except the laptop is not connectiong to the router wirelessly. I had a friend go over and it all look like is should work. Any help will be appreciated.

There are any number of reasons why you can not affect a connections. You have to look at all your settings carefully to ensure they match and you may have to try different settings such as channel and type of encryption. Recommend you go to the D-Link website and check in their Support forums. Others with the same hardware are best for exchanging ideas and information. is the router running the latest firmware available? are you using WPA2-AES? Check the MAC filter on the router. Make sure it's disabled or that your PC's wireless' MAC address is added to it. I have the same router at home (probably a different rev) and was having issues with it not connecting or dropping the connection after a minute or two. Dropping the encryption level from WPA to WEP solved this. I'm not sure why this was because I also have the same router at work being used as a wireless access point - nothing hooked into the WAN port - and it's using WPA with no connection issues.
