Windows 7 Folder Security
I've heard that in Win7 you can actually lock folders so that other computer user accounts can't access them. I have all my data files on a separate partition. When my kids log on to their user account they can access all my files in that partition. I have folders set up for each kid in that partition. I can't lock my folder from them without purchasing a third party utility (for Vista 64-bit). Is it true that I will be able to just right click on the folder inWin7 and lock it down so that only my user account can access it?Ja

Hi Jlatour, Yes, you can control who can access one specific folder. To do it: Remove your kids' account from security list. (NTFS required)Here is a detail guide:Use access control to restrict who can use your filesHope it helps.

Uhm...am I missing something here? I asked a question about Win7 and said I am currently using OS Vista 64 bit (neglected to say Home Prem) and you pasted a link to a XP solution....huh?

Sorry I didn't explain it. The steps on Windows 7 are similar on Windows XP. You can use it as a reference. Thank you for your understanding.
