Windows 7 Firewall config question.
Hi Everybody, How can I configure Windows 7 home premium to trust a computer from a different network? My home network consists of 2 desktop computers running Win 7 Home Premium, sitting behind an Untangle UTM Server acting as a router. I use the Untangle Server to set up a VPN so I can access my shared files from my PC at work (also running Windows 7 HP). The IP Address of my Home Network is 192.168.12.0/24 The VPN assigns me a virtual address of 172.16.0.5 The VPN works well, I can access my home network with no problem. I can even ping my wireless HP network printer. The problem is accessing my shares with the Windows 7 firewall activated. If I shut the firewall down on a desktop PC, I can access it's shares with no problem. I would like to be able to access my Windows 7 machines at home from the 172.16.0.5 address without disabling the firewalls on the 192.168.0.x network. What do I have to change? _______________ Thanks Tim Jones MCP

Hi, Based on my research, I suggest you create a Tunnel Endpoint for an IPsec tunnel rule. For more information, please refer to the following article: Connection Security Rule Wizard: Tunnel Endpoints Page - Custom Configuration Also, please assure the following port is allowed in Windows Firewall which is used by VPN and Remote Access Connections. VPN and Remote Access Connections Fail Thanks, NovakPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
