Windows 7 File Name Too Long when
Since completing our windows 7 rollout we have experienced a very peculiar issue. When executing anything that may start a UAC prompt such as Control Panel Items or programs that need administrative rights, we get "File Name Too Long" Errors. If we log in as a local administrator and disable UAC, the error message goes away. At the same time, when we try to open image files with the Windows Picture Viewer, we get the same errors. We have been changing the default picture viewer to the Office Picture Manager. Windows 7 Enterprise 32 Bit. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi raulortiz, Thanks for the post! When does this issue happen? The UAC does not forbid you access Control Panel. The error should be no permission or access denied if you are controlled by UAC. Does the issue persist in Safe Mode? Try a Clean Boot to disable non-Microsoft services http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135/en-us. Did this error occur on the reference computer used for the image? What have you found in the Event Viewer?
