Windows 7 Enterprise IE8 has become VERY slow
I am using Win7 64 Enterprise and lately for no reason I can determine IE8 has become extreemly slow and almost completely unresponsive. If I leave it for a few minutes it will eventually load sites like Google but sites with more content will load much slower. Eventlog shows the following type errors: Log Name: Application Source: Windows Error Reporting Date: 8/9/2010 9:50:00 AM Event ID: 1001 Task Category: None Level: Information Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: miturnbo-WS.cisco.com Description: Fault bucket , type 0 Event Name: AppHangXProcB1 Response: Not available Cab Id: 0 Problem signature: P1: iexplore.exe P2: 8.0.7600.16385 P3: 4a5bc69e P4: 26a5 P5: 32 P6: iexplore.exe P7: 8.0.7600.16385 P8: P9: P10: Attached files: These files may be available here: C:\Users\miturnbo\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportQueue\AppHang_iexplore.exe_43e46c69f8e9c79d7f6f768bb9a1cac30a758_1f29e9c3 Analysis symbol: Rechecking for solution: 0 Report Id: 4c269959-a3c5-11df-93c6-5cff35059c5c Report Status: 4 Event Xml: <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> <System> <Provider Name="Windows Error Reporting" /> <EventID Qualifiers="0">1001</EventID> <Level>4</Level> <Task>0</Task> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2010-08-09T14:50:00.000000000Z" /> <EventRecordID>6206</EventRecordID> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer>miturnbo-WS.cisco.com</Computer> <Security /> </System> <EventData> <Data> </Data> <Data>0</Data> <Data>AppHangXProcB1</Data> <Data>Not available</Data> <Data>0</Data> <Data>iexplore.exe</Data> <Data>8.0.7600.16385</Data> <Data>4a5bc69e</Data> <Data>26a5</Data> <Data>32</Data> <Data>iexplore.exe</Data> <Data>8.0.7600.16385</Data> <Data> </Data> <Data> </Data> <Data> </Data> <Data> </Data> <Data>C:\Users\miturnbo\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportQueue\AppHang_iexplore.exe_43e46c69f8e9c79d7f6f768bb9a1cac30a758_1f29e9c3</Data> <Data> </Data> <Data>0</Data> <Data>4c269959-a3c5-11df-93c6-5cff35059c5c</Data> <Data>4</Data> </EventData> </Event> Also: Log Name: Application Source: Windows Error Reporting Date: 8/9/2010 9:50:00 AM Event ID: 1001 Task Category: None Level: Information Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: miturnbo-WS.cisco.com Description: Fault bucket , type 0 Event Name: AppHangXProcB1 Response: Not available Cab Id: 0 Problem signature: P1: iexplore.exe P2: 8.0.7600.16385 P3: 4a5bc69e P4: 26a5 P5: 32 P6: iexplore.exe P7: 8.0.7600.16385 P8: P9: P10: Attached files: These files may be available here: C:\Users\miturnbo\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportQueue\AppHang_iexplore.exe_43e46c69f8e9c79d7f6f768bb9a1cac30a758_1f29e9c3 Analysis symbol: Rechecking for solution: 0 Report Id: 4c269959-a3c5-11df-93c6-5cff35059c5c Report Status: 4 Event Xml: <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> <System> <Provider Name="Windows Error Reporting" /> <EventID Qualifiers="0">1001</EventID> <Level>4</Level> <Task>0</Task> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2010-08-09T14:50:00.000000000Z" /> <EventRecordID>6206</EventRecordID> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer>miturnbo-WS.cisco.com</Computer> <Security /> </System> <EventData> <Data> </Data> <Data>0</Data> <Data>AppHangXProcB1</Data> <Data>Not available</Data> <Data>0</Data> <Data>iexplore.exe</Data> <Data>8.0.7600.16385</Data> <Data>4a5bc69e</Data> <Data>26a5</Data> <Data>32</Data> <Data>iexplore.exe</Data> <Data>8.0.7600.16385</Data> <Data> </Data> <Data> </Data> <Data> </Data> <Data> </Data> <Data>C:\Users\miturnbo\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportQueue\AppHang_iexplore.exe_43e46c69f8e9c79d7f6f768bb9a1cac30a758_1f29e9c3</Data> <Data> </Data> <Data>0</Data> <Data>4c269959-a3c5-11df-93c6-5cff35059c5c</Data> <Data>4</Data> </EventData> </Event> Also, I have 2 other browsers. Firefox which has no problems with load times at all. Also I use Maxthon which utilizes the IE8 engine and it seems to work fine as well. It's just IE8 that is causing this slowdown. It's a strange problem since it does eventually load the content but it is very slow taking 1 to 5 minutes to load a site. I have tried the normal stuff like disabling add-ons or clearing content but nothing has impacted this issue. Any suggestions?

Hi , First ,you can use the tool “troubleshooting” to find and fix the problem , Control panel ---All control panel items ---Troubleshooting---view all---Internet Explorer Performance. Second , try to reset the IE8, click the Tools button on the IE8 board, the click then Internet Options, click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset, in the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset, finally click the close . Close Internet explorer and open it for the changes to take effect. Besides, please confirm if you install only one anti-virus application, or maybe it will lead to this issue.
