Windows 7 Encryption
Hi, I have a domain user, who encrypted a folder on his company laptop. His user profile experienced problems, and user profile service denied his logon. Not knowing that user had encrypted some of his personal files (which he shoulden't do, as we have safeboot installed on all laptops), i went into the registry database, and deleted his user key ind the following registry path: HKEY_Local_Machine -> Software -> Microsoft -> WindowsNT -> CurrentVersion -> ProfileList Now that his domain user was deleted on the local machine, he was again able to login, and Windows 7 setup a new local user for him. By now you have probably guessed my question, and unfortunetly i think i know the answer myself, but is thee any way to allow the user to access his encrypted files again?/Michael

Hi, Thank you for your suggestion. I think this would have worked, had i not deleted the user. When looking in certificate manager -> personal it is empty. /Michael
