Hi, I've upgraded my MotionComputing LE1600 Tablet from Vista Business to Windows 7. A relatively seemless process and a more efficient OS. However, I need the Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG driver for my WiFi card or maybe even a generic one? Anyway have a suggestions? Thanks, j

I have an IBM laptop with the Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2915ABG.i managed to find a driver for Vista from the manufacturer. When loading it , i had to right click on the setup file and run it in Vista compatibilty Mode. the only problem i have found is trying to use a printer connected through USB on another Windows 7 Machine. I keep getting error 0x00000721. all my other networked computers are able to connect to this printer fine.

I have a DELL Lattitude D830 with the Intel PRO/Wireless 4965AGN. I upgraded from Vista Business 32bit and all of the netwrok connections (wired and wireless) went out. The wireless told me I had an invalid IP configuration and that I could connect locally, but not internet. Looked like a DHCP issue - couldn't get a valid IP configuration, coudn't specify static IP information. I tried *everything* to get the network to work. Luckily, I stumbled across this post. If you aren't familiar with it (I wasn't), in order to install in Vista Compatibility mode, right-click on the .msi and choose "Troubleshoot Compatibility", then choose Vista from the list of OSs. I DID get the latest drivers, both from Dell and Intel (The one that I installed was from Dell, haven't tried the Intel version which is slightly newer under this process). You may have toget the newestversionto get it working - not sure. Mike

My Sony VGN 5SM uses the same driver. For the Windows 7 beta I had to download a driver file from the Intel site (It was 12.2.0.0_X.zip, an XP file but worked fine).... For Windows 7RC I received a Windows Update immediately after the installation, specifically for this driver.

I loaded Win7 beta (Build 7100) on a Dell Latitude X1 with a Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG NIC. I did the initial OS load using the physical ethernet connection and performed the required on-line OS updates. After many, many reboots for all the OS updates I configured the wireless interface with very little difficulty (no additional drivers required, for the wireless NIC) good luck db

The corollary to this that you need to make the new installation using an ethernet connection in order to get the updates. If it is a laptop, it may be worth buying a spare ethernet cable so that you can connect to your router alongside your desktop. That way you can use the latter for reading installation guides at the same time.

That's hilarious, since when you download either the XP or vista 2200gb driver from dell, the XP doesn't do anything and the vista says incompatible. hahahaha. you're funny. and useless.

use the Vista drivers. I'm using them and they work fine. I can also attest to this. Downloaded the 32bit Vista driver from Intel, and it's working 100% on 32bit Windows 7.
