Windows 7 Disk Defragmenter needing to remove settings
I upgraded my Windows Visat Home Premium to Windows 7 and on Windows Vista I had set the disk defragmenter to come on everyday. Now on windows 7 it said before I can use the disk defragmenter, I need to remove the settings from the previous windows disk defragmenter. I press "Remove settings" when the message box displays, its supposed to remove the old settings so I can use the defragmenter, but nothing actually happens. Is there anyway around that?

Click the Start Orb and type task into the search filed. Open up your Task Scheduler (see image below). See if you can get rid of the defrag settings located there.

Thanks for help. I did as you said but I don't see any of the tasks and got a lot of error messages saying things no longer exist and press refresh to see current tasks. I can't delete the tasks as it says "They no longer exist" so this is probably wy my degrag won't remove the settings. Any advice?

2 suggestions.First, you should never upgrade to a beta from a working system, unless it is not your primary computer. Having said that, you can dual boot between Vista and Win7 andrun a 3rd party defrag program (i.e., Diskkeeper) from the Vista partition. It will defrag the Win 7 partition as well as the Vista partition. I upgraded my computer as its one I don't use that often as i have another computer which I use as my main PC. If it were my main PC, I'd never had upgraded it. I think I'll get another degragmenter and use that as it seems the one I have won't work.
