Windows 7 Creates Subdirectories
I was recently upgraded to Windows 7 at work. I have found every time I save an e-mail in a subdirectory Windows 7 creates another subdirectory inside the same directory with the same name as my e-mail. When you open the new subdirectory there's generally 3 files in it. The files are: - colorschememapping.xml - filelist.xml - themedata.thmx If you delete this subdirectory Windows 7 deletes the e-mail as well. How do I stop Windows 7 from creating these subdirectories? Thanks, Jim :-)

Hi Jim, The reason is that you're saving the mail as an html file. This means, the html needs additional resources that can't be embedded in the html version of the email so it creates a directory to link to the html file you saved. To stop this behavior, instead save the message as one of the other available formats such as *.msg format (outlook's native format) and it will save only one file.Tom Overton
