Windows 7 Crash
I am using a Dell laptop with Windows 7 32 bit OS. My laptop crashed yesterday and I cannot use the F8 button to get Advanced Boot Options. I also have the Windows 7 Recovery Disc.
When using the diagnostic tool I got an Error Code 2000-0146. The exact message read
Error Code 0146
Msg: Error Code 2000-0146
Msg: Hard Drive 1 - Self Test log contains previous error.
I was wondering if there is a simple way to fix this error.
If not, how can I get my data and files off of my laptop onto an external hard drive. After I save all my files, will wiping my system clean and re-uploading Windows 7 still work for my laptop or is the hard drive too much of an issue to still use the current
system I have. Thanks.

This indicates a hard drive failure.
I think it will be better to contact
Dell Technical Support.
