Windows 7 Contrast issue after plugging in Microsoft optical wireless mouse USB receiver
I've been using Windows 7 for a while now and the first time I plugged in my USB dongle for the Microsoft wireless mouse, it went haywire. When it starts and logs on it is fine but as soon as I use the start menu or access a program off the shortcuts or anything else, it goes into a high contrast, unreadable mode, and if I close it the problem will go away. Can't read anything and do not know why this happened but it started immediately after I plugged in this mouse. Any ideas? Remember I cannot do anything or get info (driver related) in Windows 7 as I cannot read anything.

I have a Microsoft keyboard and Mouse as you do and sometimes mine will go into high contrast where ever my mouse goes. I can correct it most of the time. It is as if I had clicked and held my mouse button to create this beautiful painting of high contrast colors.I've been searching for the answer but hasn't been a big deal so far. I will keep my eyes on your blog to see what they tell you to do? Have a good one chamblisstom@bellsouth.net

Thanks. I ended up loading it in safe mode and removed/reinstalled the video drivers and now it works again. Not sure what it was doing, but it made being able to do anything impossible.

Hi XzHIBIT & Cgamblisstom,it looks like its a driver issue, and the best thing which you can do is go to MSFT web site and download the latest drivers...as XzHIBITfind out, removing the "conflicting or not fully supported" drivers will bring you back to normal but "probably" you can not use your hardware with full functions , alerts etc... but it should workErdal
