Windows 7 Boot Issue after critical update
Hi,I encountered a problem with windows 7 after installing the critical update: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/970419First,I thought that it is a hardware failure. I took almost everything out but it still doesn't work. After I reinstalled Windows 7, it worked again. It only happens after downloading and installing the critical update. Is there a way for me to disable the update completely?

I'd stay away from that one. It's not worth reinstalling for it.It's only a test update anyway not a critical nor a hotfix or added features or a security issue. This particular update does not install automatically."Description of test update 3 for Windows 7 Release Candidate (RC)"

if u donot want to install any update. then change update setting to "check for update but let me choose whether to download them" then going through all the update , right click particular update and select hide the update. it won't be installed thereafter.

When updates offers this again, click on the text that says available updates and right click on the update you believe to be adversly affecting your system and then select 'hide'.

I did too on my asus eee pc 1005hab with windows 7 on it. yesterday windows had an automatic critical update after the computer was restarted it would go through the windows loading screen and after that the computer screen would go black but windows would keep loading. i am buying a new recovery disc and if the computer acts up after the update again i will be calling microsoft to find a solution.
