Well the thing is that applications put locks on files. And the Ntuser.dat is very well locked, you can't copy is when is in use, so try to avoid your user profile or the user profile that is loaded or is doing the backup. Try to do a backup with NT authority or one of those services. Or just avoid your user profile, or only select the folders like desktop picture adn documents, don select the entire user. Did what you said, selected the folders I actually wanted and have the same issue. Windows Backup skipped C:\iis\ because is it on corrupted drive C:\. Windows Backup skipped C:\SSIS\ because is it on corrupted drive C:\. Windows Backup skipped C:\Users\sam\AppData\ because is it on corrupted drive C:\. Windows Backup skipped C:\Users\sam\Desktop\ because is it on corrupted drive C:\. Windows Backup skipped C:\Users\sam\Documents\ because is it on corrupted drive C:\. Windows Backup skipped C:\Users\sam\Favorites\ because is it on corrupted drive C:\. Windows Backup skipped C:\Users\sam\Links\ because is it on corrupted drive C:\. The scheduled task which runs the daily backup runs under the system account btw.

I'm not sure but perhaps is better if you're not logged in. In addition skip all those locations. You only should be backing up the data. If you create asystem image yes, by all means do the entire hard-drive, but for backup you should only do a few folders. The Computer Manual. Hi, First, I would like to know if there is any error code received when trying to run backup. I suggest going to check the disk for errors to check the issue. If the disk is OK and the issue persists, please refer to the following KB article: How to troubleshoot Windows Backup and Restore issues when a reparse point folder or its subfolder is added to a user library in Windows 7 Regards, Sabrina Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
