Hi, I have searched that error code and do not find a satisfactory response in the TechNet forums, external forums, frankly anywhere. This error may be related to settings in registry for the dvd drive, corrupt files, incompatible disks. Those that have burned the dvds only find that they fail when a restore is attempted and get this error then. Some get this error hours after starting the process. I have no success using dvds in any tests I have made. You are not doing anything wrong. I would recommend that you use an external hard drive rather than dvd's. Than you can perform a Complete PC backup and regular data backups to cover all recovery situations. If that is too costly, try using DVD-RW disks. Then you can update those. Be sure to test any disk set that you may be able to create.

Hi, I would like to verify does the DVD work properly on Windows 7 such as burning files? What about other DVDs? Did you use any third-party CD/DVD-burning software such as Naro or Roxio? If so, please temporarily remove them from "Control Panel"-> "Programs and Features". The issue could be related to DVD drive or DVD type. I suggest you delete Filter Drivers and use a DVD-RW disc as first floor mentioned. Delete filter driver ----------------------------- 1. Click the Start Button, type "regedit" (without quotation marks) in the Start Search box and then press ENTER. 2. Navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000} 3. Right click the {36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000} entry, choose "Export", select Desktop in the Save in box and type backup in File Name. Click Save. Please Note: The backup file is on the Desktop and named backup.reg. We can simply restore the registry by double-clicking the backup.reg file. 4. Highlight this key ({36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000}), on the right pane, and then check if Upperfilters and Lowerfilters value are present. If so, please right click on the values and select "Delete" to remove them. 5. Restart the computer When performing backup, please use the Clean Boot environment first. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 Best Regards, Niki Please remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
