Windows 7 Backup
Hi
I have just started using Windows 7 backup. I made an initial backup yesterday and a scheduled backup ran today. However, when I execute
Manage Space... > View backups I only see today's backup listed and it is dated today. If I look on the network drive where I am putting the backup, I see 1 backup set (dated yesterday) and two Backup files folders in that set, dated
yesterday and today.
Why doesn't View Backups... show yesterday's backup?
BTW Is this the best forum to ask Windows 7 backup questions?

What type of backup have you chose today, compared to yesterday? That might have something to do with why you can't view yesterday's backup.
In addition I think you should try to do a system image. Please do not forget to select the best answer if it helps you! The Ultimate computer newbie guide since the discovery of spoon feeding!

I would gather Windows Backup is offering the most current backup for less confustion with those who would see multiple backups listed. There should be an option to display previous backups beyound the most current. It has actually been awhile since I used
Windows Backup to backup my files (since beta/RC) so I do not recall running into this issue and will give give it a try once I get to my home network to see if I can dig out an option.
After doing a moch Win Backup start up, I kind of do remember this issue. The latest backup had an error and I wanted files from the one previous which did not have the error. I suppose you followed the yellow brick road here:

It seems this is the only option that is allowed. I have not checked into any settings or options though

Sorry for the delay in replying, I didn't get a notification email for your reply.
I am not aware that there is a choice of backup type, so I guess I am always doing an incremental backup.
I am backing up to a network drive and didn't want to store a large system backup there, so I haven't done a system image.

All that you can do right now is to start a different backup just for a few files and folders, and then continue with other backups, if they perform the same it might be the tool it self. But if the results are different then you can try again
doing a full backup or normal backup.
I don't think that is the way to do backups. you need to start with a normal backup first. perhaps that is why you can't see the initial backup.
