I was under the impression that a standard user with backup operator privelages could perform a backup and restore. After I created a backup job as an administrator to external drive, logged out, and logged in as a standard user, which is a member of the backup operators group, I receive an access error (0x80070005) after UAC asks me to enter my standard user password. In UAC screen, if I login as an administrator, it works fine. Want my standard user account to be able to backup and restore without knowing administrator password. Please Advice.. Thanks

Hi, After tested on my machine, I found that user within “backup operator” group cannot perform a backup and restore. Backup and Restore in Windows 7 need administrator privilege. It’s by design.
