Windows 7 Automatic Updates Downloaded But Do Not Install Automatically
The PCs get the automatic updates from a WSUS server and are supposed to install at a certain time but they do not. They will install as the user shuts the PC down. Is this a know problem and is there a fix for it ? Thanks for any replies.

1. You first search should point attention to the WindowsUpdate.log, ReportingEvents and Event logs. If you feel like not to analyze it, upload logs to the SkyDrive or similar cloud repository. WSUS has reporting tool that may give more information on status. 2. Possible problems in WSUS: a. Before you can use WSUS the initial synchronization must finish successfully. b. It depends how the updating mechanism is set in GPO. More information would be helpful for analysis c. What is the response on workstations whe you issue from elevated command prompt wuauclt /ResetAuthorization /DetectNow d. Would you specify automatic updates. Hope you Run every of them and Save settings 3. Better platform for WSUS problems is specific forum devoted to WSUS here http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/winserverwsus/threads Regards Milos
