Windows 7 Administrator Account
Builtin administrator account can not be deleted while your new admin account can be deleted. For more information, refer to this Microsoft article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc722455.aspx For SQL questions, it will be better to post in SQL foru,s on MSDN. If you need an account with admin privileges, it will be enough to create a new local admin account and use it. I don't see proble;s with that. I have a new 64-bit machine with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit OS. I am preparing to install SQL Server 2008 R2 Developer Edition. I am still a little confused about the Windows OS Administrative Rights. There is the Built-in Administrator account that comes with Windows 7. I have also created a separate User Account with Administrative Rights. What is the difference between the Built-In Administrator account and the Admin account that I set up? Does the Admin account that I setup have all the Rights and Privileges of the Built-In Admin account? Which account would be best to use for the SQL Server install?
