Windows 7 Administrative issues
Hey guys, I did poke around the forum and google and I found some similiar topics, but not sure if they are quite the same as mine... I have W7/Ultimate and I'm getting quite annoyed at the fact that I'm getting permission denied to delete random files that require a restart to do... I have THE only account on this computer, is there any way to make it so there is no issue as to who has 'ownership' on files that I downloaded on my only account? If this is a redundant question I do appologize, however as stated I've seen similar but not the same... if anyone could help that'd be great it's getting very annoying having to retart to delete files and if thats the case I'll go back to my windowsxp/vista ultimate despite all of vistas flaws I'v never had issues doing simple tasks such as deleting... Thanks in advance... ~ Sean

Appearently the files that you want to use are used by other programs. If it is the case, a restart should be performed. Check if this is the cause of your problem. · Hi Sean, you can check if there is any wrong message or logs in Event Viewer: right click “Computer”-----Manage-----Computer Management-----Event Views-----Windows Logs-----Security Please boot into safe mode to check if this issue still appear. And you can perform a full scan by your anti-virus software to see if your computer have some virus. And ensure that your account has right of administrator. Right click the file, click Properties to check the permissions. Try taking ownership of these files, then delete. By the way, can you tell me what files you want to delete? I’m assuming that you deletes a junction point.
