Windows 7 Activation Problems
Hello,It my first day with Windows 7 (32-bit, german version).I installed it on a free space on my notebooks harddrive (10 Gb) and everything worked fine. I was amazed how fast it is.But I was unhappy with the disk space, so I tried to shrink my Vista Partition on the same Notebook. I wasn't able to do this so I used Partition Magic, started it and while I was not watching the system started standby. Now nothing was working anymore, I managed to repair my Vista partition with chkdsk, but had to reinstall Win 7.And here is my problem:After the second installation, I was not able to activate my copy. I get messages that I have an illegal copy and so on.When I try to activate I get the message: "This pre-release version of Windows has expired"After trying a few things I realized that my windows date was on august 2009 (I guess this is when the beta expires) while my system date is the right one. Changing the date in Windows had no effect.Should I just try to reinstall and watch the date???Thanks for your helpCzebyPS:Please excuse my english, I am not a native speaker.

Hmm this is very wired because when you insall windows 7 you get to choose the date and time did you by misstake choose aug 2009?? Because yes the beta exp then and i belive it sould accept your keyagine but if it wireless i guess it cant actviate! All i can say is reinsall windows 7 and make sure to choose the right date! I belive some times it sould allow you to use windows 7 but wiht out some features so you would be able to put the right key in a stuff have any images of it that you can post for me?? Also windows7 is in beta so the phone sys dose not know anything about windows 7 thats why the opt is not there,Hoped this helped you!

I guess this is the probem, I don't know why it changed to that date, every other Windows installation I ever did used the system date (although I'm not sure with Win 3.1) so I didn't pay attention.I will reinstall and post the results. Thanks so farEdit:It seems to work after reinstallation, I was able to activate my copy online. Thanks
