Windows 7 64bit black screen :o(
I am running an i7, 6 GB, 2 TB music PC, with Windows7 64bit and yesterday was greated with the dreaded black screen after signin. All my drivers are up to date, and the computer is not conncted to the net... When I turn on everything is fine, then I sign in fine, too be met by a message saying "Windows explorer has stopped working: A problem caused the programme to stop working correctly. Windows will close the programme and notify you if a solution is available" When I click on this I am met with the black screen and nothing else :o( I am able to get into my task manager, but nothing in there seams to makie a difference... I cant use the restore pijnts for some reason, if I restart and try in safe mode, I get the same all over again. I've tried several different ideas taken from this site, but too no avail... Please help!

Try restoring the computer to its last known good configuration.

This is not a solution, just a temporary workaround. When you get the black screen, Press Ctrl-Alt-Del (the three keys, simultaneously), to bring up Task Manager. On the Processes tab, select explorer.exe, then click the End Process button (bottom right). Click on File (in the menu), New Task (Run...), and type: explorer.exe, then click OK. You should now see your normal desktop.
