Windows 7 64bit WLAN Authentication Issue
I am attempting to get two different Win 7 64 bit laptops to connect to our Cisco WLAN. We have configured the WLAN to WPA2 with AES encryption and we have configured PEAP with Smart card or other certificate for the authentication method. This works without issue on Windows XP but the Windows 7 computers are not sending over the Priciple Name in the Subject Alternative Name field from the certificate. What am I missing? Thanks in advance

Hi, According to your description, I suggest to perform these steps to troubleshoot the issue: 1 Temporary disable firewall on your PC 2 Disable IPV6: 1) Click “Start” 2) Input “Network and Sharing Center” in Search box and press Enter 3) Click “Change adapter settings” on left pane 4) Right click “Local Area Connection” can click “Properties” 5) Remove the option of “Internet Protocol Version 6” 6) Click “OK” 3 Enable IEEE 802.1X authentication on Local Area Connection Properties 4 Login with Clean Boot for test. If the issue persists, since it related with configuration of Cisco WLAN, you can contact Cisco for further help: https://supportforums.cisco.com/index.jspa Please Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Thanks for the response Leo, I was able to resolve the issue and it appers to be with how the WZC (WLAN Autocofig in Win 7) picked up the WLAN settings from RADIUS (IAS.) I am going to research the IAS settings and determine the best fit to get these settings to work.
