Windows 7 64bit Ultimate - HomeGroup WAS working, now no longer joinable on either end.
PC - Intel Core 2 Quad w/ 8GB DDR2 running Windows 7 64bit Ultimate OS Laptop - Intel Core i3 w/ 4GB DDR3 running Windows 7 64bit Ultimate OS I am not able to set up a homegroup on either the PC or laptop, that the other can join anymore. I had it working flawlessley last night when I shut both the PC and the laptop down at night like I usually do. This morning, when I went to watch a movie on my laptop, via the desktop, Windows said... Windows cannot access \\BRETT-PC Well, nothing whatesoever was changed on either end. So I had both machines leave the homegroup, and I started a new one on the PC. Once that was completed, I attempted to have the laptop join the group. No lukc, as it never saw the homegroup. I made sure all the required advanced sharing options were where they needed to be, and made sure I was discoverable on the network as well. Again, no luck. So I tried to start the homegroup on the laptop. No dice again. Am I missing something here totally obvious? Or is this a problem I might run into again in the future?LET'S GO TIGERS!

Hi, According to your description, The HomeGroup suddenly doesn’t work even you create a new one on both computer, I suspect there might be some virus, third-party software and malware influence your computers, please use Microsoft Security Essentials to scan your computers. Meanwhile, check your computers’ IP address, because a home network can consist of only one contiguous IP subnet. In addition, Windows 7 includes new diagnostic functionality called Troubleshooters that are designed to automatically repair the majority of common problems a user might encounter. Open the HomeGroup Control Panel, and select the option for Start the HomeGroup troubleshooter. Hope it can help you!
