Windows 7 64 bit side by side error
I recently installed Microsoft Essentials on My windows 7 64 bit sp1 pc. I am getting this error over and over again Type : Error Date : 4/13/2012 Time : 12:31:04 AM Event : 72 Source : SideBySide Category : None User : N/A Computer : pc001.our.network.mydomain.com Description: Activation context generation failed for "c:\program files\microsoft security client\MSESysprep.dll".Error in manifest or policy file "c:\program files\microsoft security client\MSESysprep.dll" on line 10. The element imaging appears as a child of element urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1^assembly which is not supported by this version of Windows. I have MSE installed on several platforms XP 32 bit Vista 32 bit no issues just seems windows 7 64 bit?? Any ideas or thoughtsThomas R Grassi Jr

I think this problem is caused by the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package version you are running. Try updateing it to see if that helps or if it's already updated you can try a previous version. Hi, Based on my research, please try the following troubleshooting steps: 1. Install the latest the version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package for x64 based system. 2. Temporary disable Microsoft Security Essentials and rename MSESysprep.dll to MSESysprep.dll.old, run Microsoft Security Essentials again and see how it works. If issue persists, it is recommended to post a new thread in Microsoft Security Essentials Community or submit a support case via Microsoft Security Essentials Support. Hope this helps.
