Windows 7 / SBS 2008 connection problems
I've a new server running SBS 2008 service pack 2, and two new workstations running Windows 7 Professional, service pack 1. I've installed all the SBS updates I can find. Added two new users to the server, but cannot connect either workstation to the network. Here's what doesn't work: Launcher.exe fails. http://connect fails. ping connect (on workstation) fails. ping servername works from the workstation. I've tried disabling Windows 7 firewalls (still doesn't work). Tried changing network settings (File Sharing Connections) changed from 128bit to 40-56bit encryption, still didn't work. Read through other posts on this topic, but do not understand some of the suggestions (such as ARP, don't know what that is). I definitely need some help. All this new hardware / software sitting here for weeks and I can't get it to work. I admit I'm fairly new to servers and don't have any help here and live in a remote location so can't do anything else other then start asking for help online. Anybody?

I did manage to find a solution using the DNS suffix problem found here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957708 After making the suggested changes, the http://connect link in Internet Explorer worked and allowed me to connect the workstations to the server. You'd think that Microsoft would release something that worked right out of the box....
