Windows 7 - copy files to 2008 server - explorer hang freeze
hi all
if we copy file from local pc (Windows 7 64bit with SP1) to a Windows Server 2008 R2 - explorer hang
there is no permission or share problem!
same with windows 7 SP1,
same with other user,
same with other machine (HP Evo 8100, HP Notebook 8510)
to a server 2003 it works
filesize 48MB and 2,5GB
why does it work when set
netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
netsh int ip set global taskoffload=disabled

Hi Chris,
The large file size transferring will cause network overload. Disabling taskoffload and autotuninglevel will speed up the network performance and solve the network
hang issue.

Hi niki
thanks for answer. Is this a wrong default from Microsoft? Ok 2,5GB Service Pack is large but 48MB is not very large. We have the filecopy problem with different user and different windows 7 workstations and with Windows 7 SP1.Chris

Hi Chris,
It is not related to the default from Microsoft. It depends on your network environment and bandwidth.

@ Niki Han
Then why does it work on the 2003 server? I have the same issue. Two servers side by side connected to the same switch. One will allow me to copy files to the network share, the other will not. The 2008 server will start transferring,
and then explorer will hang, and only a very small portion of the file will be transferred if any at all.
